Its part of the bellhousing The TH 350 is a newer development than the 62 Impala. Think 3 speed stick, mybe an old T-10 4 speed or Powerglide, no TH 350/400/700R4/6L60. So you'll have to get creative for a lower rear mount and a shorter drive shaft. If memory serves, the engine in the 62 uses a front mount rather than a mid mount, that might also need some fudging to keep.
